The Merrill Hall project involved the challenging task of renovating a landmark 19th century historic structure's primary lecture space to function as a modern, multimedia lecture hall facility. The existing stepped floor structure was completely removed and replaced in order to provide ADA accessible access to the entire room and to improve the lecture hall's sightlines.

New seating and finishes were installed and new state of the art audio visual systems were installed. Control of the room's audio visual equipment, automatic shading devices, and multi-scene lighting system is fully integrated into the teaching station at the front of the room allowing instructors full control of all equipment via intuitive touch screen controls. In addition, a new computer teaching lab was created adjacent to the lecture hall.
