By creating new business opportunities, enhancing existing recreation and cultural alternatives, creating pedestrian-friendly areas, and creating a lifestyle option that can result in minimizing the development of outlying areas, the improvements to the area will provide benefits for the neighborhood, city and region as a whole. The twelve month study included a comprehensive market analysis, in-depth site analysis, stakeholder interviews, and three targeted community focus groups. Continuum worked with SmithGroup/JJR, Chicago. The planning area is defined on the north by Vliet Street, on the south by I-94, on the west by I-41, and on the east by I-43.
