The first phase of the Kramer Lifestyle development concentrated on the rehabilitation of the foundry's original circa 1900 building into a restaurant space and cafe on the first floor, with the upper level to function as office space. Today, the first phase is completed and the project houses the restaurant, Social, and an Alterra Cafe.
The neighborhood of Walker's Point in Milwaukee represents an old industrial neighborhood that is enjoying a renaissance with multi-use developments springing up along scattered sites. The Kramer Lifestyle Center is the very first catalyst project for more redevelopment to take place. As a result, these new facilities are designed to have outdoor seating areas that activate both First Street and Pittsburg Avenue for a more pedestrian friendly urban neighborhood.
