Project Overview

Natural Resource Technology’s (NRT) environmental engineers and professionals provide environmental investigation, engineering, and remediation services to a variety of clients.  With Milwaukee’s growing focus on the water technology businesses, they wanted to relocate their Pewaukee office to downtown Milwaukee.  Being conscious of their image, NRT wanted a space that reflects their environmental awareness.  After viewing several properties, they chose a 15,000 sf space in a LEED certified building.

Continuum provided programming, design, and construction documentation services for the build-out and presented three interior design concepts—Flannel Shirt, Striated Earth, and Refresh.  Each scheme created a strong counterpoint to the existing wood structure and cream-city brick, while communicating NRT’s brand and identity through creative space layout and finishes.  The layout focused on open office space with a variety of collaborative niches such as the lobby/conference area and the training room/cafe area.  NRT selected a simplified version of the Flannel Shirt design scheme to best demonstrate their brand. Continuum completed the build-out drawings in just three weeks, and construction was completed in three months.
