Based on the Green House Model for long-term care living, the Pleasant Haven campus is designed to benefit both residents and healthcare staff. Each of the five Community-based Residential Facilities (CBRFs) include eight private one-bedroom, one-bathroom units with shared living rooms, libraries, spas, kitchens, and dining rooms. Residents have the choice between the comfort of their private home and the joy of small group socialization. Caregivers are on duty 24 hours a day and occupy space in the center of each building. This model’s small environment allows them to provide more efficient and personalized care to each resident. In addition to the CBRFs, there is one central 1,800-square-foot Community Hall. The large multipurpose room with a fireplace and outdoor deck accommodates parties and public events. It also includes a coffee shop/juice bar, salon/spa, as well as an area for physical and occupational therapy.
The campus courtyard includes a safe walking path that winds through the extensive native prairie landscape. The exterior of each building blends into the landscape and matches the architecture of the surrounding neighborhood. Just off-site, the development makes use of a retention pond for stormwater management. The Village of Mount Pleasant wants to expand its use to neighboring sites. Construction was completed in two phases and also planned by Continuum.Get in touch
