Renovation of the Historic Mackie Building, home to the historic Milwaukee Grain Exchange, features adaptive reuse of three upper floors of high-end market-rate apartments. Originally built in 1887, each unit takes advantage of unique floor plans to capitalize on scenic views of Milwaukee’s East Side Commercial Historic District. The interior renovation of the second floor is home to The Daily Reporter’s offices; Milwaukee’s only publication for publicly-bid projects. The first floor features additional spaces for the Grain Exchange Event Center, including management offices, a bridal dressing suite, and public restrooms.
