Oneida Nation Museum / Hobart, WI

After outgrowing their current home and looking towards the future, the Oneida Nation decided to move their collection and asked Continuum to help them shape the space that will showcase their history for years to come. This adaptive reuse project aims to become a destination in the Green Bay area, with interactive exhibits centered around a new sculpture by an Oneida artist designed for the space that highlights the Nation’s history and culture.

The first thing that catches your eye is the copper-colored entrance addition that leads you into the completely renovated double height lobby space with clerestory windows that directs you into the main gallery. The ideal visit would end with Oneida performers displaying a traditional dance in the Honor Garden, a pavilion that can serve as both an exterior celebration space and a reflective outdoor area with the names of Chairspeople adorning stone-faced walls.
