The Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center is comprised of 10 buildings on the former Bethel Academy and Theological Seminary. The campus is now used for technical training and education for young adults in the St. Paul area. Continuum led the campus-wide renovation of the HVAC systems and building renovations. The scope of the project included decommissioning and demolition of central boiler; installation of separate HVAC systems all in remaining buildings; replacement of 130 historic SHPO-approved windows; and exterior foundation waterproofing, masonry repairs, and parapet rebuilds.
Continuum oversaw the installation of separate, independent HVAC systems in each remaining building to provide a higher degree of thermal comfort and energy efficiency for the campus. Additionally, Building 1 received over 130 SHPO-approved historic window replacements to help improve energy efficiency and building longevity. Buildings throughout the campus recevied exterior masonry repairs, including and extensive parapet repair and rebuilding causing immediate safety concerns. Continuum assisted with temporary shoring of the affected areas until funding could be secured for full reconstruction.
