The Berkshire / Ashwaubenon, WI

The Berkshire is an affordable senior housing project located on Mike McCarthy Way in the heart of Title Town’s entertainment district and within walking distance to many bars, restaurants, and Lambeau Field. The development consists of one three story apartment building, totaling 70,000 SF of space and housing 61 apartment units, as well as,16 two story tall three-bedroom townhomes, totaling 23,500 SF of space. Each townhome is 1350 square feet. Mary Kardoskee, the Village President, says senior housing is something that residents have repeatedly asked for during her nearly six years in office.

The building’s major amenity is the community gathering space, integrated with the entrance lobby to create a welcoming atmosphere with a hospitality concierge corner serving light beverages. Furnished with comfortable couches, round tables, and chairs to sit around, residents can converse and relax as they desire. With large spans of windows facing north, this space opens to an urban terrace lined with green planters, steps, and ramps that act as a buffer between pedestrian sidewalks and the building’s privacy on the first floor. A fitness room, library, and cybercafé are also located on the first floor. Family Service of Wisconsin, a first-floor tenant in the building, provides counseling to Protect, Heal, and Care for the residents and community.
