In 2015, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater determined that the existing facility chiller plant would not be sufficient for future planned development on campus. To accommodate anticipated future growth, this multi-phased project included utility corridor improvements for the north and central campus, an addition to the heating and chiller plant, as well as dorm utility improvements. The added capacity of the new plant exceeded their current energy needs, and allows for UWW’s continued expansion.
Continuum served as the architect for the project. The contemporary design and liberal use of glass allows the building to break away from the traditional back-of-house utility plant and become a prominent campus icon.
