This fast-tracked adaptive reuse project involved an 18,000-square-foot interior renovation of a long-abandoned industrial building into a heavy manufacturing product museum for Bucyrus. The three-story, timber-frame building utilizes two floors to display prototypes and products made by the company throughout its history. The third floor is a library of the company’s historical records. In an adjoining building, Continuum designed a 50-seat theater and a gift shop. Public tours start with a movie at the theater, then proceed through the plant, finishing up in the museum where visitors can learn about relevant industrial history with a stroll through the displays, models, and interactive exhibits.
Continuum is currently working on the transformation of the Bucyrus campus. Click here for more information on the Bucyrus Housing Development.
